Had Onpoint come out to do a new installation for our basement unit. I'm in East Vancouver and it can be hard getting good trades around here, but they were excellent. Clean job, respectful team, and the new slider feels really solid. Glad I called

Frequently asked questions

Troubleshooting & Service Concerns

Why is my patio door so hard to open or close?

Over time, dirt, debris, or worn-out rollers can cause resistance. In many cases, the track may also be bent or misaligned. We’ll inspect all components and either clean, realign, or replace parts as needed to restore smooth movement.

My patio door keeps coming off the track. Can it be fixed, or do I need a new door?

A door that jumps off the track is usually the result of damaged rollers or an uneven frame. This is typically a repairable issue. Our technicians realign the track and replace any faulty components to secure the door properly.

The glass in my patio door is cracked. Can you replace just the glass?

Yes, we can replace the glass without replacing the entire door. We carefully measure and fit new, matching glass panels to ensure a proper seal and restore the door’s function and safety.

My door makes a grinding or scraping noise when I open it. What’s causing that?

This noise often comes from worn rollers or a buildup of dirt in the track. It may also indicate that metal parts are rubbing where they shouldn’t. We assess the wear and tear and replace or lubricate parts to stop the noise.

Can a damaged lock or handle be repaired, or does it always need replacement?

In many cases, damaged locks and handles can be repaired. If the mechanism is broken or outdated, we’ll recommend and install a suitable replacement that matches your door’s design.

My patio screen door doesn’t slide anymore. Is that fixable?

Yes, screen doors are often repairable. The issue usually involves broken rollers or a warped frame. We’ll assess whether the screen and frame are still usable and replace rollers or adjust alignment as needed.

How do I know if the problem is with the track or the rollers?

A visual inspection may show worn or flat spots on rollers, or dents and debris in the track. However, we’ll do a full diagnostic during our visit to identify exactly what’s causing the issue and explain it clearly before starting work.

My door feels loose or unstable when I open it. Is this dangerous?

A loose door may indicate that it’s out of alignment or that the frame is damaged. While it might not be immediately dangerous, it can worsen over time. We assess the structural integrity and secure the door to prevent further issues.

General Company and Service Questions

How soon can you come out for a repair?

We offer same-day or next-day service in most areas, depending on technician availability. We’ll confirm your appointment time when you contact us and aim to be punctual and efficient.

Do your technicians have experience with all types of patio doors?

Yes. Our team is trained to work with a wide variety of doors, including glass, aluminum, vinyl, and older models. We also repair screen doors and enclosures, so you’ll be in experienced hands no matter the issue.

Is your company licensed and insured?

We are fully licensed and insured. This protects both our customers and our technicians and reflects our commitment to professional, reliable service.

What happens if the technician finds more damage during the repair?

If additional issues are discovered, we’ll walk you through the findings and explain your options before proceeding. You’ll always have a clear understanding of the scope and cost before any extra work is done.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept most major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. Payment is typically collected after the service is complete and you’re satisfied with the results.

Do I need to be home during the repair?

Yes, we ask that someone over 18 be present during the appointment. This helps ensure access to the repair area and allows our technician to explain the work and answer any questions.

Do you offer any warranty or guarantee on your repairs?

Yes, all of our repairs come with a warranty. We stand behind our work and are happy to explain what’s covered during your service call.

What areas do you serve?

We service a wide area throughout Vancouver. When you contact us, we’ll confirm that your location is within our service range and schedule accordingly.
